December is here! The holidays are here! Ughhh, I’m beaming with excitement, it’s my favorite time of year! I can’t say enough good things, so let’s just jump right in to the December ledger, I’ve got lots of good things on here for this month!
DEC 1. Put up the tree! Decorate your faux or real foliage with ornaments, lights, popcorn garland, and all the goods. I have and am obsessed with this tree topper!
DEC 2. Finish up all your Christmas shopping early! Make room to enjoy the season. Get ideas and see all my gift guides go up as the month progresses. So far you can see stocking stuffers for HIM and HER.
DEC 3. Organize your children’s toys as best you can to make room for the new ones they’ll be receiving. I’m thinking of splurging on these bins for the boys’ toys. Everything I’ve ever purchased from Land of Nod has been such good quality, so I can at least justify to Miles that they’ll hold up!
DEC 4. Sort out what you’ll wear on Christmas.
DEC 5. Drive around and look at all the Christmas lights in your neighborhood.
DEC 6. If you followed the ledger from last month, you should have ordered and received your Holiday Cards by now. Mail them out ahead of time to give them ample time to get where they are going, especially if any will be traveling internationally.
DEC 7. Take the kids to visit Santa Clause and get a beloved picture of at least one of them in tears.
DEC 8. Watch your favorite Holiday film! Three I love are “The Holiday,” “Love Actually,” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”
DEC 9. Fill your Home/Apartment with fresh balsam & candles. I love this candle the most this time of year.
DEC 10. Buy Matching pajamas for your family, or just with your girlfriends! We went for green buffalo plaid this year!
DEC 11. Drink at least one hot chocolate. City Bakery spills their hot chocolate secrets in this article!
DEC 12. Make a holiday playlist with all of your favorite Christmas songs. I’m all about Gwen Stefani and Leslie Odom Jr. this year.
DEC 13. We’ll be in Newport Beach today watching the opening night of the Holiday Boat Parade!
DEC 14. Plan a date night out at a restaurant you’ve been wanting to try.
DEC 15. Buy yourself a present, it’s totally acceptable…Mine will be most likely be this–have it in the light grey color, have been wanting it in the coral!
DEC 16. Build a gingerbread house.
DEC 17. Host a mini holiday party or Pinterest party with your girlfriends accompanied with games, snacks, and cocktails!
DEC 18. Pay it forward. Pay for someones coffee, collect coats for the homeless, volunteer your time…
DEC 19. Treat yourself to a new shade of lipstick! I’ve been wanting to try this brand.
DEC 20. Drink at least one Peppermint latte before the season ends.–How I order mine: “tall peppermint latte, hot, with almond milk and half sweetened.” Gingerbread lattes are good too, but peppermint is just so classic. A cheap way to get the peppermint latte at home is to throw a York peppermint patty right into your coffee, a trick my mother in law taught me when we first met. SO good, a must try.
DEC 21. Enjoy the longest night of the year and officially say goodbye to Fall.
DEC 22. Leave some goodies for your mailman in your mailbox!
DEC 24. Merry Christmas Eve! Make sure to get your last minute wrapping finished, and play Santa Clause for the night!
DEC 25. Merry Christmas!
DEC 26. I know this is sort of lame, but we usually will take our decor down and clean our home the day following Christmas. It feels proper to bring in the New year with a fresh and clean palette. The tunes still play until after the 1st though!
DEC 27. Organize gifts you received. Hang up new clothes, start using new make up, etc. It’s like unpacking–It feels amazing to get all the gift bags out of your way, and find homes for your new things.
DEC 28. Take advantage of any post Christmas sales while returning/exchanging anything that didn’t work out.
DEC 29. Get a new manicure with glitter for once! Bring in the new year shining.
DEC 30. Ponder what your resolution or word of the year will be for 2018.
DEC 31. Happy New Year’s Eve! Stay up past your bed time and bring in the new year with champs or sparkling cider.
