Location: in the heat of summer

If I could use two words to describe this summer, I’d say coffee + wine. I am such a minimal drinker–as in one glass of red when out to dinner, mayyyybe…I drink coffee on the daily, but summer has me downing two cups–one for each kiddo, just kidding, but not really…I’m exhausted! Harlow sleeps from 8:30 at night to about 4:00 a.m. and then he’s up pretty much every half hour from there on. It’s been a struggle. I used the Ferber sleep training method to get him to sleep in his crib, and it has surprisingly worked really well, but if you could solve the 4 a.m. thing for me, that would be the absolute best!

Anyway, all these 4 a.m. wake up calls and a full schedule has had me drinking way more wine than usual, but I’m not complaining. I’m actually thinking of it like a vacation, since I can’t  go on a real one right now. Anyhow, I thought it would be fun to come up with a ledger of all the things I’m thinking of doing in August, one thing for each day.

Well, here goes a whole lotta nothin’…

AUG 01   Sign up for a wine club. I love the branding of Winc, but the concept of Dry Farm Wines. Have you tried either of the two?

AUG 02   Find a good dress to get me through to October. I really love the chambray options of this one shoulder dressthis belle sleeved dress.

AUG 03   Have yourself a spoonful of organic peanut butter or almond butter in lieu of dessert.

AUG 04    Schedule our yearly physicals, eye exams, and bi-annual dental exams before school starts back up again.

AUG 05   Try and make one of these breakfast bowls.

AUG 06   Rent a projector and have an outdoor movie night in the backyard.

AUG 07   Watch the season finale of the Bachelorette! who. will. win? I think Bryan will win, and Peter will be the Bachelor next season! One can only hope.

AUG 08   Invest in a good pair of sunglasses. Green lenses tend to work best with my skin tone, so I’ve been contemplating these unisex frames by Ray-Ban.

AUG 09   Try a new ice cream or frozen yogurt flavor.

AUG 10   Take a yoga class.

AUG 11   Get a pedicure while my toes are still in sandals. I’m loving these nail colors for summer: 1 | 2| 3

AUG 12   Plan a trip to Disneyland once our annual passes are good again!

AUG 13   Download a guided meditation app like Smiling Mind or Calm. Know the benefits and keep a practice of meditation.

AUG 14   Play a game of Monikers with some friends.

AUG 15   Wear a new lip color. I like this one, and better yet this one which will transition well right into fall.

AUG 16   Try out  this Greek Pasta Salad for lunch and these Quinoa Quesadillas for dinner!

AUG 17   Spend a day at the beach.

AUG 18   Hang string lights on the patio.

AUG 19   Read a new book. I’m reading I Can’t Make This Up by Kevin Hart + I Was Told to Come Alone by Souad Mekhennet

AUG 21   Check out the total solar eclipse today! (Make sure to wear protective glasses)

AUG 22   Send a brightbox to someone special in your life, just because.
They are only $5. The end.

AUG 23   Whip up some homemade spicy margaritas. I’ll post my recipe soon!

AUG 24   Take a weekend road trip up the coast.

AUG 25   Pick out a cute planter and plant a succulent. I’m loving this faux T-Rex planter for the boys’ room, and this one for me!
